Howard resident’s song inspired by injured Marine D.J. Emery (The Lock Haven Express)HOWARD - Though they are strangers, Bill Dann of Howard and Marine Corps Sgt. David Emery Jr. of Bellefonte are linked through words and music. Dann, a local radio personality and lyricist of several songs, has penned yet another one, “Heroes Close To Home.” This patriotic song honors Emery (known as D.J.), who lost his legs after surviving a suicide attack in Iraq on Feb. 7, 2007.
